Bagnaia is a small and charmingly historical town in Northern Lazio, near Viterbo. The town is famous for one of Italy’s greatest gardens, Villa Lante. The entrance is dominated by an impressive theatrical fountain with statue of Pegasus. Its main terraces are subdivided by paths and box hedges into geometrical patterns, they’re linked by steps and a central stream that falls from the Grotto of the Flood, at the top of the garden, through a sequence of magnificent fountains and to the great water parterre that overhangs the ocher-roofed town below.
